State Lottery Scholarships


Below is a listing of the South Carolina Lottery Scholarships available at CCU to eligible South Carolina Residents.

Each of the SC State Lottery Scholarships is regulated by the SC Commission on Higher Education (CHE).

In addition to the requirements listed below, students must also meet general eligibility requirements. Please refer to CHE's website and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Brochure for these general eligibility requirements and further information on each award:

Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
Application required 
$6,700 per year for first year   -  $7,500 per year for final three years
 Incoming Freshman

First time freshman must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 1200 SAT or 27 ACT and
- minimum HS GPA of 3.5 and
- Rank in the top 6%

Consult with high school guidance counselor for complete eligibility requirements and to submit application to the SC Commission on Higher Education.
 Incoming Transfers
Must submit the ‘Instate Transfer Form’ to the SC Commission on Higher Education available on their webpage.
 Continuing Students
Must satisfy the renewal criteria each year to maintain eligibility.
SC Palmetto LIFE Scholarship
Automatic consideration, no application required
$5,000 per year
 Incoming Freshman
First-time freshman must meet 2 out of the 3 following criteria: 
- 1100 SAT or 24 ACT
- 3.0 HS GPA (SC UGS)
- Rank within the top 30% of HS class
 Continuing Students
Must satisfy the renewal criteria each year to maintain eligibility.
SC HOPE Scholarship
Automatic, no application required
$2,800 for first year 
Incoming Freshman only 
First-time freshman must meet the following criteria:
- 3.0 HS GPA (SC UGS)
SC Palmetto Fellows and Palmetto LIFE Enhancements
Automatic consideration, no application required 
Additional $2,500 per year for final three years 
Continuing Students only

To qualify after the first year of enrollment, must meet the following criteria:
-   Meet eligibility criteria for the base SC Palmetto LIFE OR SC Palmetto Fellows       Scholarship
-   Have declared an approved major in a math or science degree program
-   Have completed at least 14 credit hours in approved math or science courses by the end of the initial year of college enrollment
