Study Abroad
Study abroad is strongly recommended for students majoring or minoring
in foreign language. Students majoring in Spanish are required to either
study abroad or participate in a local internship program. Only under
special circumstances are students allowed to substitute study abroad
for the internship program.
The department offers a Maymester program in San José, Costa Rica,
and one in Madrid, Spain. These programs have boomed in recent years.
Students participating in these program are eligible to earn up to six
credit hours in Spanish; these credit-hours can either be used to satisfy
the language requirement (130) or applied towards the Spanish minor or
major.
CCU also has an exchange program with Tokyo Denki University, which allows
students to earn credit for 130 by spending a semester in Japan. We also
offer an array of new programs in Germany in conjunction with the Universities
of Applied Sciences. CCU students have recently studied in Argentina,
Austria, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Italy, Ireland, and Mexico
among other countries.
