"Early Alert" Notice For First-Year Students

The student will be required to meet with his/her advisor and the Director of First-
Year Academic Advising/University College to discuss the problem(s)
and possible strategies that will help the student's academic performance (Prince 213:
(843) 349-2934) and complete a Success Contract.

be shared with the student, who has legal access to educational records at Coastal
Carolina University. Observations should be objectively stated.
Student lacks essential reading skills

Student is not attending class
Student's work is below expectations for this course
Student demonstrates a lack of organization in work

Student is not performing well on quizzes/tests
Student exhibits disruptive classroom behavior
Student struggles to maintain good grooming/hygiene
Student has demonstrated drastic changes in grooming/hygiene
Student responds inappropriately to instructor
