Graduate Council Meeting Minutes

February 4, 2009

Members Present: Joe Winslow (Spadoni College of Education), John Marcis (Wall College of Business), Mark Mitchell (Wall College of Business), Jill Sessoms (Humanities and Fine Arts), John Reilly (College of Natural and Applied Sciences), Dan Lawless (Registrar), and Richard Johnson (Associate Provost for Graduate Studies and Academic Outreach).

Guests: Jeanne Cobb (Spadoni College of Education), Dennis Wiseman (Spadoni College of Education), John Lox (MBA Director, Wall College of Business), Jim Luken (CMWS Director, College of Natural and Applied Science)

The meeting was called to order by Dr. Richard Johnson at 11:30 a.m. in the Dawsey Conference Room of the Edward Singleton Building.

Old Business:

A. Approval of minutes from 12-3-08 Graduate Council Meeting

Minutes were approved with 1^st motion, 2^nd motion, and all in attendance.

New Business:

A. Approval of new Master of Education in Teaching and Learning Program

offered by the Spadoni College of Education.

Program was explained to council by Dr. Jeanne Cobb, Dr. Dennis Wiseman, and Dr. Joe

Winslow. Questions and answers session followed.

Program and all associated courses (new courses and revisions to existing courses) were

approved as a package by Graduate Council.

B. Proposal for restructure of Graduate Council will be presented by Dr. Richard Johnson to Faculty Senate at next meeting 2/4/09.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m. Next scheduled Graduate Council meeting is 3/4/09.
