COA is sponsoring a WFA course offered by the Wilderness Medicine Training Center as a tool and certification for anyone who plays or works in the outdoors, away from medical services. This certification is recognized nationally and is essential for those who spend time working in the outdoors, leading individuals or participating in outdoor activities away from urban centers. You will be introduced to the basics of wilderness first aid, including life support skills, minor trauma, spine assessment and ruling out, allergies and more. The majority of the time is spent in hands-on skills practice and simulations.
Those seeking to become outdoor leaders with the Chanticleer Outdoor Adventures must possess a minimum of a WFA. The American Camping Association, the Boy Scouts of America and numerous other organizations recognize WFA and WMTC as a valid medical certification.
More information about the course and registration form available at http://www.wildmedcenter.com/
