Physically Active Living Program(PAL)
The Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Studies recognizes the trend that students have become less physically active during their college years and that physical activity patterns during college is a significant predictor of adult health and physical activity levels. Physically Active Living Skills (PALS) courses provide students an opportunity (for academic credit) to be more physically active and/or fit during their college experience as well acquire new skills and knowledge to be active once they leave college.
PALS courses are half-semester 1-credit hour activity courses delivered by highly qualified instructors and open to all Coastal Carolina University students for academic credit. Unless otherwise noted in the catalog, each PALS course may be taken up to two times for academic credit. The PALS courses are designed to promote lifelong physical activity habits by developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for successful and safe participation.

Students majoring in physical education teacher education (EDPE) are required to complete several PALS courses, and may have additional course requirements. EDPE majors should consult their advisor.
