First-year honors students are required to live in honors housing; (students accepted to the program in the 2nd semester are exempt from freshman honors housing requirement). Student-athletes have the option of choosing honors housing or athletics housing. Local students who will be living with family have the option to apply for an exemption from the University Housing Requirement. Honors housing provides the opportunity to live in an academic environment that supports the emotional, social and personal growth of our honors students. Honors students will be assigned to the premier double occupancy, or shared, bedrooms within a suite configuration. Each single-gender suite has a private bathroom for its residents and private, swipe-card access. Each floor in the honors community will have a Resident Adviser, 1-2 quiet study rooms and a community living-room style lounge. Honors housing affords students the opportunity to interact both socially and academically while encompassed in a quiet, tranquil setting, yet within close distance of all campus activities. Resident Advisers are veteran CCU students and provide informal mentoring and assistance to residential students. In addition there is a Community Coordinator who is a full-time live in professional and supervises the Resident Advisers and serves as an additional resource for students.
