Senior Thesis
As a part of the Honors curriculum, students are required to complete a Senior Thesis. Preparation begins during your Senior year when you are registered for HONR 498 – Honors Capstone Course in the Fall semester. (Sciences students register for 498 during the Spring of their Junior year). During this time you will do research and prepare for the thesis. You will then register for HONR 499 – Honors Senior Thesis or an * approved equivalent your final semester (*contact the Honors Office). Copies of prior theses are available in the CCU Library.
*For students seeking to substitute a seminar or course, (i.e., MUSC 399, CBAD 497) for Honors 498, must meet the following conditions by the last day of examinations of the semester the substitution is made:
- Produce 18 (1-2 page) reader responses to peer-reviewed articles on the research theme or topic of their choice;
- Complete a 2-page Thesis Proposal Form, signed off by their thesis advisor;
- Register to present their research in the next Celebration of Inquiry Conference;
- Complete a 4-6 page bibliographic overview of the literature reviewed.
This will also allow the substituting course to be made into an HONORS course.
