Biography:
Tripthi Pillai joined the Coastal faculty in 2010 as assistant professor of English Renaissance literature. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Loyola University Chicago, with a focus on feminist engagements with temporality and early modern drama. Her recent work includes “Constructing Experiences and Charting Narratives: The Future In/Of A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Critical Guide (Continuum Renaissance Drama, 2010) and "Thomas Middleton's Critical Time Line" in Middleton in Context (forthcoming, Cambridge University Press). Currently she is working on a project on political futurity in Shakespeare's drama. Dr. Pillai's teaching expertise are in the areas of Shakespeare studies, Renaissance English literature, critical theory, and cultural studies.
