Student Testimonials

Lisa Galloway

“My internship allowed me to put into action some of the things I had learned in the classroom, but more importantly, it gave me an opportunity to learn some specifics about advertising. I did quite a bit of copywriting during my internship. I was able to use skills I had developed in English and journalism classes and applied those skills to specific client projects. I did some research and writing for a Health Care CDROM project which is currently being used all over the country. The internship gave me a very objective look at how my education at CCU would be of practical use in the ‘real world.’ The experience led to my employment at LHWH, but I’m confident that it would have been useful even if I had chosen another career path.”

Brian Lowe

“My internship with House of Blues during the spring semester of 2002 was not only a valuable learning experience...but it resulted in an offer for full time employment with the company. I have now been with House of Blues for nearly two years, and it feels like just yesterday I was roaming the halls of CCU!”

Kristie Goodall

“Internships are important for several reasons. You get inside information about a particular position before you start working full time. In my case, I was able to get familiar with my editor and co-workers before I was hired. This made the transition from school to career easier.”
