The services offered by the Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) includes welcoming new international students, providing orientation, facilitating the registration process, and serving as primary contact for these students throughout their stay at Coastal. The office provides information on cultural issues; maintains applications and literature on how to obtain social security cards, drivers' licenses, health and automobile insurance; explains employment options; and serves as an on-going general information resource. Coastal has an active international club and encourages new international students, as well as Americans, to take part. Club trips and a variety of activities are organized each semester. Students may visit, at their convenience, Laurel Hall.

OIPS actively promotes study, work, and travel programs for students wishing to visit other countries. The University sponsors its own academic programs and maintains directories and files that list several thousand programs organized by other American colleges and universities. Coastal has entered into bilateral agreements with universities and colleges in England, Australia, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Japan. These programs allow Coastal students to study abroad in a variety of disciplines while paying Coastal fees. Agreements with universities in other countries are in development, and questions about other Coastal-sponsored exchange opportunities should be directed to the OIPS. Volunteer, work-abroad, and travel possibilities are extensive and may also be explored by visiting the OIPS located in Laurel Hall.
