You must keep your passport valid for a minimum of six months into the future. It is recommended that you keep photocopies of the essential pages of your passport (i.e., identification page, visa stamp, etc.). Should you lose your passport, having these copies may reduce time needed to have the document replaced. To renew your passport, you must contact your home country’s embassy or consulate in the U.S. The Office of International Programs has telephone numbers and addresses of foreign embassies and consulates.
