Take advantage of this fantastic
opportunity to earn university credit while acquiring
or improving conversational Spanish skills in one of
the most beautiful of the European capitals. The SPAN
350 Intensive Spanish classes are offered at seven different
levels from beginner to advanced. Students receive three
hours of transfer credit (no grade) for the course.
Under the instruction of CCU professors, students also
earn three hours of credit for either SPAN130 or SPAN330. Students receive a grade for the
coursework taught by CCU faculty.
Students will leave Myrtle Beach on Saturday, May 9, 2009 and arrive in beautiful Madrid on May 10, 2009 after an overnight international flight.
While in Spain, all students will live with host families. Room and board will include breakfast and dinner each day. Laundry is included in the price of the accommodations. Most of the families are not far from the school, and most students can walk to school each day. In a few cases, student may use the subway or bus for a 10 to 15 minute ride to the school.
In Spain, students
will be responsible for lunches, and bus or metro
fare to and from school and on city excursions.
Lunch can be purchased for about five Euros; a
ticket for 10 trips by bus or metro is about 6
Euros (or about E .60 per trip).
Other costs will include passport fees and
passport photos.
The fee for this three-week program is $3,325 and includes
airfare, language instruction provided by the
host institution, room and board (two meals per
day), insurance and excursions. In addition, students will pay $750 tuition for instruction provided
by Coastal Carolina University faculty for either SPAN130 or SPAN330.
Students pay the program fee to the Office
of International Programs and Services. The
tuition must be paid to the Office of Student Accounts prior to departure.
