Welcome to the Environmental Health and Safety website. It is our hope that the information presented here will serve as an important safety awareness resource to promote common sense personal practices that will guard individuals from injury.

In order to be effective, the University safety program requires a united effort by all members of the Coastal Carolina University community. Everyone is encouraged to take part in protecting themselves and each other by informing EHS of safety concerns or noteworthy hazards they observe on and of our campuses via the Report a Safety Concern link in the text box on the right-hand side of the webpage.  Your input is essential for the University to provide the safest possible environment.

The EHS staff includes authorized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) trainers, as well as Chemical Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality and Environmental professionals who are trained and committed to public service. The department promotes student, faculty, staff and community development through a rigorous safety training program that emphasizes the knowledge and skills necessary for individuals to protect themselves and to help others.

Our Mission

The mission of the EHS is to provide leadership and education for Coastal Carolina University stakeholders by conscientiously developing, administering and improving upon programs and policies  while practicing sustainable stewardship of resources, adopting the highest standards of integrity and accountability, and assuring fair and honest treatment of all people.‌
