Library Success Stories
The Kimbel Library is one of my favorite places at Coastal Carolina University. I love that the student workers and staff always make me feel welcome when I walk through the door, no matter the hour. I am a bibliophile so I like to tell people I use the PASCAL system more than any other student on campus. I love how they can somehow always get the book I want to read, whether they have it on their shelves or not.
I love how Kimbel Library goes the extra mile during finals and midterms to make everyone comfortable. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly. The layout of the library is remarkable, with all of the various seating arrangements, and having Starbucks in the building. There seems to be an endless amount of technology that you can check out. Somehow, with the help of all of these amenities, I am able to pull through finals every year; the various de-stress activities, puzzles, games and crafts really help me relax during such an important week.
But the number one thing I love about the library is their school spirit. I am a Student Government Senator and the main thing I think the whole campus should do is have more school spirit, just like the library. I look forward every week to see the various library posters, figurines and creations that depict the Chanticleers taking on various opponents during the football and basketball seasons. I love how even though the library is the furthest thing from an athletic facility they still support the Chanticleers and show their unique excitement regarding that week's contest. The holidays and homecoming are no exception. Kimbel Library is always decorated tastefully and cheerfully to remind students and faculty of what a great institution they attend, and every time I walk into the library I smile when I see the school spirit on display and the cheerful attitude of all of the workers.
