Information Technology Services is broken down into functional groups to better
serve the Coastal community. They are listed below. For a complete listing of

Academic Computing Services is responsible for supporting faculty and staff with their technology requirements. Specific areas of support include software installation, hardware and software troubleshooting, training, hardware and software purchases, and technology integration.
Administrative Computing is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all mission critical software applications and web development, along with the software's associated server hardware. Specifically, a crew of seven programmers implement, customize and maintain Datatel Inc.'s Colleague comprehensive administrative software product. This unit also supports multi-user applications and office automation needs for their assigned administrative area. Two system administrators work with the team to administer IBM UNIX servers and over 40 Linux Servers. The group is also responsible for the development and management of the official University Web site, and the development of a multitude of in-house web, and mobile device applications.
Web Group is an integral component of Administrative Computing Services and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the official University Web site. The Group works in collaboration with University Communication to ensure that the appearance of University Web sites meet University marketing guidelines.
The primary function of the Web Group is web programming - creating the behind-the-scenes dynamic functionality of a site - in order to assist each department in displaying accurate, up-to-date content. In addition, the WebGroup provides assistance in content updates on University departmental sites, and also implements redesigns in collaboration with University Communication.
Application
Support Services is responsible for procurement, implementation and maintenance of hardware platforms and application servers on campus.
Network Support Servicesis responsible for supporting and managing the voice and data network hardware and hardware configuration on campus. This includes installation, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and purchase consultation of all phones, computers, network devices and associated peripherals.
Student Technology & Computing Services is dedicated to providing students with assistance on technical issues and technology-related projects to enhance their academic experience. SCS also maintains the general-access labs and micro-computer labs and supports residence hallcomputer operations.
