What is the Datatel system?
Datatel is a network based product that provides universities with
administrative capabilities. These capabilities include enrollment,
financial, instructional and human resource management; student services,
institutional advancement as well as budgeting and planning.
How do I get an account on the Datatel system?
Complete the ITS Faculty/Staff Datatel Account Request form. You will then be given a username and password to
access the system.
How often will my Datatel password expire?
Currently Datatel passwords expires every 90 days. If you feel as though your
account has been compromised, you can have your Datatel password reset immediately
by contacting Shri Chabba (schabba@coastal.edu)
or Bob Full (bfull@coastal.edu).
It is very important that you do not share your account password with
other users.
Can I access Datatel through the internet?
The WebAdvisor component of Datatel allows you to access information
contained in CCU's administrative database. The WebAdvisor system
can be accessed http://webadvisor.coastal.edu.
Can I access Datatel from off campus?
For security reasons the Datatel system cannot be accessed from off
campus. WebAdvisor can be accessed from off campus.
What Datatel training is available?
As each functional areas of the university (e.g. Admissions, Financial
Aid, Registrar, etc.) uses Datatel differently providing a comprehensive
training session isn't the best training approach. Typically there
are users in each department that are expert in the necessary functions
for that area. In most cases these individuals train new Datatel users.

I know I printed out my report but it did not
print. Where is my report?
Datatel reports can be printed to your area network printer, your
local printer or the system printer located in the ITS office in 105
Wall. If you are sure you printed your report and it did not print
to your printer or your departmental printer please call the ITS office
at X-2032 or X-2080 to see if we have your report.
