How do I receive technical support?
Departments and employees are assigned Information Resource Consultants (IRCs); the IRCs shall be the main point of contact when technical assistance is required. The IRCs are an essential component of
the Academic Computing Services Group of Information Technology Services.
The IRC acts as a liaison to other ITS areas to help solve technical
difficulties, including network, hardware, software, or e-mail issues. If
the IRC cannot remedy the problem. she/he will consult and coordinate with other ITS
staff members and work with the customer until the problem is resolved.
Information Resource Consultants have offices all over campus in close
proximity to their area of support. They can be reached via e-mail,
telephone, via the ITS
Job Request System, or in person.
Information Resource Consultants also have knowledge
in many other technology areas such as teaching with technology, fighting
viruses, and using the internet. They are available to work with you to determine
your computing needs!
How should I request technical support?
Please use the ITS Job
Request System or contact your IRC directly. You can contact the main ITS office at x2084 for urgent requests when the IRC is not immediately available.
