The appointment of Assistant Director to the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values is a one year post-undergraduate position for Coastal Carolina University alumni. Graduates of the Philosophy major are preferred, but all alumnae of the humanities may apply.  The position term is from August 16th, 2010 to August 15th, 2011 with the option to reapply for a second term of employment. 

Requirements:

1. Applicant must have graduated by August 2010 with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
2. Applicant must have graduated from the Edwards College of Humanities.
3. Applicant must submit a resume with two letters of recommendations.
4. Applicant must write a letter to selection committee explaining reason for application.

The Assistant Director’s duties are as follows:

1. Develop and maintain an ethics database in the Jackson Resource Center and Library for community information and service.
2. Be available as a mentor and tutor for the Jackson Scholars in their Philosophy studies.
3. Maintain the records of the Jackson Center.
4. Work with the University’s library to make the Center’s resources available to the Coastal Carolina community and to the public.
5. Perform all secretarial duties necessary for the smooth, efficient running of the Ethics Center, including, but not limited to keeping the budget updated, filling out paperwork, and planning, coordinating publicity, and setting up for the Center’s programs.
6. Maintain relations between the Jackson Board of Directors and the Jackson Center, and report to them in regards to the Jackson Resource Center and Library.
7. Speak on behalf of the Center at public functions.
