Thinking about Poverty in Horry County

The Jackson Center held its first conference on April 24 and 25, 2014 entitled "Thinking About Poverty in Horry County." This was a two-day conference that explored ways in which poverty affects life in our area. On Thursday, April 24, at 4:30 p.m., Daniel Hausman, Herbert A. Simon and Hilldale Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, presented the keynote address, “Why Should We Care About Poverty?” Then, on Friday, April 25, several panels and events were held regarding current local poverty issues.
