The Jackson Family Center's commitment to quality, integrity and service to the local communitiy includes providing resources and development opportunities to local business, students and service community organizations.

The Jackson Resource Center collaborates with Kimbel Library, making the Center's resources available to be checked-out through the library and interlibrary loan. The Jackson Resource Center's holdings are also able to be searched using Kimbel Library's search engine on their website by setting the location to "Jackson Center." The Center's collection, which is primarily composed of texts dealing with applied ethics and ethical theory, and includes DVDs of seminar and lecture presentations is located in the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts on Coastal Carolina University's main campus in room 274.

In addition to maintaining an extension of Kimbel Library, the Jackson Resource Center cultivates ethical discussion within the University and surrounding communities through public seminars, which include Tea and Ethics, Coffee and Ethics and Java Jabber. At each Tea and Ethics seminar, the Center provides those in attendance with a variety of hot teas and cookies while featuring an ethics related discussion led by faculty and community members. Although Tea and Ethics seminars are held both on and off University campus, Coffee and Ethics is stricty a community outreach discussion forum housed by local coffee shops. Our newest discussion forum format is found in the presentation of the Java Jabber discussions held at the on-campus Java City. These discussions are faculty led and are open only to the University community. Attendees recieve one Java Buck (1$ discount on Java City purchases) at each discussion.

The Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values greatly appreciates any donations to the Jackson Resource Center. If you wish to donate materials to the Center, please read the donation procedures. All donations should be accompanied by a donation form and should be directed to the Assistant Director of the Jackson Center in EHFA 274.
