Library Administration
Kimbel Library of Coastal Carolina University strives to provide the resources and services essential for student success and faculty research. As the center of the academic community, the library provides facilities for study, research, and collaboration.
Access Services
Access Services provides students and faculty with information about the library's resources and schedule, including loan periods, access privileges, library hours, and other information.
Reference and Instruction
Reference and Instruction Services provide a comprehensive program that includes individual assistance and course-integrated instruction. Reference and Instruction Services develop information resources to facilitate self-directed discovery and lifelong learning.
Collection Management
The Department of Collection Management & Systems for Coastal Carolina University's Kimbel Library is responsible for purchasing books, serials, media, and electronic resources for the Library's collections; maintaining the bibliographic records describing these items in the online catalog; and the weeding and preservation of the collections.
Horry County Archives Center
The Horry County Archives Center is comprised of a variety of materials related to the history of Horry County and surrounding areas. The department is located on the second floor of Kimbel Library on the Coastal Carolina University campus.
University Archives and Special Collections
The Coastal Carolina University Archives and Special Collections is comprised of university records, oral histories, and regional history materials to support research and scholarship. The department is located in Kimbel Library on the Coastal Carolina University campus.
Library Technology and Systems
The Department of Library Technology and Systems is a newly created department that combines electronic resources and systems together with emerging technologies and web design in the development of new and exciting ways to meet the needs of the faculty, students, and staff of Coastal Carolina University.
CeTEAL (Center for Teaching Excellence to Advance Learning)
CeTEAL provides faculty development training for Coastal Carolina University faculty. In addition we offer faculty educational development in the areas of distance learning, instructional technology, and course design. We partner with other departments to offer sessions in scholarship and research, teaching and learning, and assessment.
