Circulation Desk

The Kimbel Library circulation desk is the main information service center of the library area. Located on the first floor, the desk is staffed during all hours that the library is open. The circulation staff assists patrons with the following services:

• General information
• Checking out and returning library materials
• Checking out course reserves
• PASCAL Delivers and ILL materials
• Printing and copying
• Information about library computer hardware and software

Reference Desk

The Kimbel Library reference desk is the main research service center of the library area. Located on the first floor, the desk is staffed by a librarian during most library hours of operation. The reference staff assists patrons with the following services:

• Research assistance
• Assistance or instruction in the use of the library, including locating materials, using library web services and general information
• Research consultations. To schedule a research consultation please fill out the online consultation form.

Library Instruction Room

Room 110 (KL 110) on the first floor of Kimbel Library is reserved for library instruction. This is one of two library rooms reserved for librarian-led instruction sessions (the other being BIC 234). To schedule a course-integrated instruction session designed around a research-based assignment, please use our online library instruction request form.

Room 110 has 27 desktop computers and an instructor station with two projectors on opposite ends of the room. After all scheduled library instruction sessions each day, KL 110 is available to students for additional study space.

 

Java City

Located on the first floor of Kimbel Library, Java City features a full espresso bar, smoothies, fresh-baked pastries and desserts. Please visit the following link for more information. For Java City hours of operation please visit our hours page.

 

Study Rooms

Study Room 207 is equipped with:

• Seating for 4
• VGA-ready monitor
• Equipment such as remote controls, VGA adapter cables and keyboards for use in study rooms can be checked out at the help desk on the first floor of the Bryan Information Commons.

Study room 212 is equipped with:

Study room 214 is equipped with:

Study room 215 is equipped with:

Group Study Rooms

Group Study Room 209 is equipped with:

• Seating for 8
• VGA-ready monitor
• Wall-mounted PC
• Equipment such as remote controls, VGA adapter cables and keyboards for use in study rooms can be checked out at the help desk on the first floor of the Bryan Information Commons.

Group Study room 211 is equipped with:

• Seating for 8
• VGA-ready monitor
• Equipment such as remote controls, VGA adapter cables and keyboards for use in study rooms can be checked out at the help desk on the first floor of the Bryan Information Commons.

The Burroughs Conference Presentation Room (Room 218) is equipped with:

• Seating for 18
• 2 VGA-ready projectors
• 2 Lecterns
• Equipment such as remote controls, VGA adapter cables and keyboards for use in study rooms can be checked out at the help desk on the first floor of the Bryan Information Commons.

 

Equipment Checkout Room

The Equipment Checkout Room is located on the second floor of Kimbel Library. A wide variety of items are available for checkout, including:

• Laptops
• Macbooks
• iPads
• Headphones
• Cameras
• Flipcams
• Jump drives
• Bamboo Create pen and touch tablets

Visit our equipment availability service to see what is available for checkout in real-time. In order to check out items from the equipment room you must be a current CCU student or recent graduate, fill out an equipment liability form, and present a valid CCU ID upon checkout. Other Areas
