Media Collection: Services

Reference Assistance

The Media Librarian and student assistants provide reference assistance in the Media Collection from 8:00 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. On evenings and weekends, ask at the circulation desk for assistance with the Collection's materials and resources.
 

Ask the Media Collection staff about search strategies before accessing the Collection's holdings in the online catalog. See the black notebooks scattered throughout the Collection. They provide hands-on access by subject to the Media Collection's posters, maps and magazines.
 

Instructional Tours/Sessions

Faculty may arrange for tours or instructional sessions that focus on the variety of materials housed in the Media Collection. Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual class or project. To arrange a visit to the Media Collection, call Ann Hamilton at 349-2409.
 

Equipment

The Media Collection provides VCRs, televisions, CD and audiocassette players, turntables, slide carousels, and a DVD player for patron use in the Collection. A multimedia computer is available for viewing CD-ROMs. Patrons may make color copies from the accompanying printer for a fee of fifty cents per page.
