Food + Drink Policy for Kimbel Library

9/20/07/mf

Policy

The Coastal Carolina University community is encouraged to use Kimbel Library as a place for research, study, reflection and leisure. To promote a welcoming environment Kimbel Library permits limited consumption of food and drinks in the building.

Kimbel Library's drink and food policy endeavors to accommodate our users and to encourage the use of library resources while protecting the University’s substantial investment in library collections and technology. Some regulations are required because the presence of food and drink in the Library introduces the potential for damage to furnishings, technology and collections. Also food and drink not discarded properly may cause pest infestation in the print collections that can result in damage and loss of investment.

All patrons are asked to follow the policy and guidelines to ensure that the library remains a clean, quiet and welcoming place for everyone.
