Kimbel Library: Presentations
JournalFinder
If you would like to see whether Kimbel Library subscribes to a particular journal, or to see what specific issues are
available, you can use JournalFinder. When looking at citations in many of our article indexes, you will also see a shortcut link
to JournalFinder. This shortcut will assist you in finding your article in print or electronic format.
To check the Library's subscription to a specific journal:
- On the Library's home page, select JournalFinder.
- Enter the name of the journal, omitting any articles such as "the". (Ex. "New Yorker" instead of
"The New Yorker".)
- In the search results, find the entry for the correct journal.
- If the journal is not found at all, then Kimbel Library does not have a subscription to the
journal. If this is the case, and you need more information about locating the journal or obtaining your article via Interlibrary
Loan, please consult with a reference librarian.
- Three possible icons can appear next to your journal. One indicates online subscriptions, one indicates print subscriptions,
and one provides a link to the Interlibrary Loan request system.
- Click on the computer icon for information about our online subscriptions:
- You will see a list of one or more online subscriptions to the journal. To the right, you will see the dates that are
available through that subscription. If the "full text ends" date is blank, then the library should have
everything from the begin date through the current issue.
- If a clickable link to the article itself is not available, click on the journal title to locate the appropriate year,
then available issue, then the article. Please note that this varies from journal to journal, so if you have any questions
available please check with a librarian for assistance.
- Click on the book icon for information about our print subscriptions
- This will link you the library's catalog record for the journal. The record will show which issues are available at the
available library, and the format of those issues (the periodical itself, bound issues, microform, etc.)
- Click on the envelope icon to request an article through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
- If the article is not available at Kimbel Library, it can be requested from another library.
- Enter your name and CCU ID number (found on CCU ID card)
- Click "Request Interlibrary Loan Material"
- Click "Article"
- Enter as much information as possible about the article, and submit the request.
- Please allow 5-10 days for the article. It will be delivered via email as soon as it is available.
