Library Instruction: University 110 [ L.I. main page ]The First Year Experience program (University 110) is designed to introduce Coastal Carolina University's first year students to critical and creative thinking. Develpoping students who are information literate is essential to achieving this objective. All sections of University 110 are required to complete the library's online tutorial "Searchpath" is made available to students through each section's Blackboard site. Searchpath introduces students to the basic skills needed to use an academic library and conduct college level research. The six modules focus on identifying an information need, selecting appropriate resources, basic search skills in an online catalog and periodical database, and the ethical uses of information, including avoiding plagiarism.
