Peter C. Bolton Help Desk

The Peter C. Bolton Help Desk is the main information service center of the commons. Located on the first floor, the desk is staffed during all hours that the commons is open. A staff member from Student Computing Services will assist patrons with their technological needs. Three library staff members will provide the following services:

• General information
• Research assistance
• Printing and copying
• Checking out course reserves
• Checking out equipment for use in the commons: Eno Board control strip and pens, remote control for projectors, wireless keyboards
• Installing disk drivers for Eno Boards

Presentation Rooms

Presentation rooms are equipped with the technology needed to work on a group project, watch a movie, record a presentation, or participate in a Skype or Adobe Connect session, to name a few of their uses.
Rooms 123 and 233 include:

• Seating for 10
• Lectern, Eno Board, 52-inch monitor, formfit computer
• Remote controls for projector, Eno Board control strip and pen and wireless keyboard can be checked out at the help desk

Study Rooms

Room 228 is equipped with:

• Seating for 6
• Lectern, Eno Board, 32-inch wall monitor, VGA cable
• Remote controls for projector and Eno Board control strip and pen can be checked out at the help desk

Study room 229 is equipped with:

• Seating for 8
• Lectern, Eno Board, 32-inch wall monitor, VGA cable
• Remote controls for projector and Eno Board control strip and pen can be checked out at the help desk

Zen Study Rooms

Zen study rooms are located in rooms 121 and 231 of the commons. The rooms are equipped with:

• 4 Soft seat chairs
• Eno Board
• Remote controls for projector and Eno Board control strip and pen can be checked out at the help desk

Mediascape Study Rooms

Study rooms 122 and 232 are equipped with Mediascapes, plus the following amenities:

• Seating for 8
• Eno Board
• Two 32-inch wall monitors
• Remote controls for projector and Eno Board control strip and pen can be checked out at the help desk

Alcoves

Alcoves are located on the first floor of the commons. One alcove faces the north of the commons and the other faces the south. Technology in each alcove includes:

• 6 Mac workstations
• Mediascape workstation with 32-inch monitors at each end
• Mediascape counter-height table seating for 8

Second Floor Library Classroom

Room 234 (BIC 234) is a multi-purpose room reserved for library instruction during the day and Math Center and Writing Center tutoring in the evening. BIC 234 includes four Mediascape workstations, an instructor station and presentation equipment.
