WRC Internship Program
Women’s Resource Center Mission Statement:
The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) at Coastal Carolina University serves as an educational and cultural resource for the campus community. We do so by providing an inclusive and supportive space for open discussion about a diverse range of social issues.
The WRC supports the mission of the University to help students become productive, responsible, healthy and global citizens by focusing on pertinent social, political and cultural topics as they relate to women and by fostering a campus environment where all people are treated equitably.
Internship Program Description and Duties:
Interns will support the WRC with programming, scheduling, coordinating events, programs, and participation as needed; Daily maintenance of webpage and social media sites. Interns will need competent written and verbal communication as well as customer service, and attention to details. Experience with Microsoft Office, help with daily operation of Women’s Resource Center.
Applying for Internship:
There are two ways to intern with the WRC. The traditional way includes expressing interest with a coordinator here at the WRC, and scheduling an interview. The second option would be applying under Career Services to possibly receive academic credit www.coastal.edu/career for more information.
*Students will receive academic credit at the completion of their internship based upon your assessment of their work performance and satisfactory completion of their academic assignments. Clear orientation, direction, and evaluation by the Employer Site Supervisor are critical to the Intern’s Success.
*Students should know this is not a paid internship.
