Ann Miles received a BM degree in Church Music, with a concentration in piano, from Appalachian State University. She has been employed as Staff Accompanist at Coastal Carolina University since Fall 2002 and also serves as Organist and Choirmaster for St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Conway. Prior to this, Ms. Miles was Organist at First UMC in Myrtle Beach and Director of Music and Organist for the Darlington Presbyterian Church for 21 years. While a resident of Darlington, Ms. Miles served as Moderator for the New Harmony Presbytery Worship Music Committee for a number of years and coordinated the music for the Darlington Carolighting for 19 years. Ms. Miles was founder and artistic director of The Young Singers of Darlington, an auditioned group of 4-8 graders from throughout the Darlington community. Under her direction, the group performed throughout the state of SC and performed in New York City at Carnegie Hall; Washington, D.C.; Williamsburg, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; and in Orlando, Florida at Disney World. In 1997, Ms. Miles was awarded the Elizabeth Bush Wiggins Award by Black Creek Arts Council of Darlington County for her contribution to the arts and was given a Key to the City in 2000 by the mayor and City Council, as well as being honored as Citizen of the Year by the Greater Darlington Chamber for her work in the community.
