Dr. Tonya Gray Propst, Assistant Professor of Music, holds the BA in Music from Glenville State College (WV), the MM in Music Education and Horn Performance from Ohio University in Athens, and the DA in Music Education and Horn Performance from Ball State University. Prior to coming to CCU, Dr. Propst lead successful middle and high school band programs in West Virginia and South Carolina and has been guest conductor for middle school honor bands in North and South Carolina. She has also held faculty positions at Indiana Wesleyan University and Anderson University (IN). Dr. Propst has presented at conventions of the College Music Society, Indiana State Music Educators Convention, and the MENC National Conference, and has had publications appear in the Journal of Research in Music Education and the Indiana Music Educator Journal. She has extensive performing experience throughout Ohio, Indiana, and the coastal North and South Carolina region. In addition to Music Education and Brass Studio responsibilities, Dr. Propst is also the Director of the Summer Arts Music Academy.
