CCU students offer Day of Service for 9/11

Students Taking Active Responsibility (STAR) at Coastal Carolina University will hold a Day of Service to commemorate the 11th anniversary of 9/11. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Prince Lawn. The community is invited to attend.

STAR is supporting a national effort sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service to inspire millions of Americans to engage in service and remembrance activities on CCU's campus.

The University's R.O.T.C. will perform the presentation of colors at 8:30 a.m. CCU students will then have the opportunity to write letters to solders overseas as well as honor those who were lost with moments of silence throughout the event. The letters will later be presented to the Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina to send to area soldiers serving overseas.
