CCU World Music Ensemble presents concert

  CCU Steel Pan Ensemble  
The Coastal Carolina University World Music Ensemble will present a concert titled "Skin and Steel" on Thursday Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The concert will feature the CCU Steel Pan Ensemble and the CCU Afro-Cuban Folkloric Music Ensemble.

The Steel Pan Ensemble will play a variety of music from some of the most well-known steel pan composers of the last 40 years. The performance will feature music from composers Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, Andy Narell, and many more.

The Afro-Cuban Folkloric Music Ensemble will perform several different styles of Cuban music including Bembe, Rumba Guaguanco, and Conga de Comparsa.

Tickets may be purchased from the Wheelwright Box Office at 843-349-2502, or prior to the performance. The box office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. General admission is $9; seniors and alumni, $7; teens, CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) students and faculty, $3 (with valid ID); and children (10 and under) are free and must be accompanied by an adult.
