CCU launches internal search for interim provost

Coastal Carolina University announces that an internal search for an interim provost to lead the academic and student divisions of the university is under way.

Robert J. Sheehan stepped down as provost and senior vice president on May 13, 2013, to return to the faculty. He has served as provost at CCU since July 2007.

President David A. DeCenzo has appointed a search committee consisting of Dean Daniel Ennis (chair), Dean Nelljean Rice, Associate Provost Sallie Clarkson, Faculty Senate Chair Keshav Jagannathan and Student Government President Kaitlin Page. A new provost should be in place by June 7, 2013, according to DeCenzo.

The provost is administratively responsible for planning, organizing, budgeting, coordinating, directing and evaluating the instructional, research and public service activities of the University, as well as those areas in Student Affairs.

The deadline for applications is May 23, 2013.
