CCU student/soldier featured in 9/11 documentary

  Kynesha Benjamin-Gibson
Kynesha Benjamin-Gibson, a “proud Chanticleer” and soldier in the U.S. Army Reserves, is featured in a special documentary on “Pre/Post 9/11” at 7 p.m. Thursday on WACH Fox (Timewarner Cable, Channel 6, or Direct/Dish, Channel 57).

The student from Mayesville, S.C., was one of four recruits of 1,000 chosen to take part in the documentary during summer Basic Training at Fort Jackson.

“Returning to Coastal for a new academic year, I credit my desire for success to my family, but also to Coastal Carolina for exposing me to standards of excellence,” says Benjamin-Gibson. “In addition, I’d like to express gratitude to the ROTC department, which gave me my first exposure on what it would feel like to be a real soldier.”
