Long Bay Symphony to perform classics for the holiday season

The Long Bay Symphony Chamber Orchestra comes to Coastal Carolina University for an evening of classical Christmas music on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. General admission tickets are $20. Student tickets are $10.

The symphony will be joined by regional singers and dancers who will assist in performing a selection of operatic, choral, ballet and orchestral music of the holiday season.

The program is made up of excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah,” Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel and Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker, “ and complete performances of Holst’s “Christmas Day” and Adam's Cantique de Noel ("O Holy Night").
