CCU presents a World Music Ensemble concert

   
Coastal Carolina University’s World Music Ensemble will present an evening of music from around the world on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. General admission is $5.

The concert will feature Brazilian musical styles from Rio de Janeiro, Samba Batucada, and Recife, Maracatu, as well as Soca and Calypso from Trinidad and Tobago. The CCU Steel Pan Ensemble will be performing the tour-de-force composition, “Pan Army” by Len "Boogsie" Sharpe.

Jesse Willis, assistant professor of music, directs the ensemble.

Band members include Nathan Culp, Kyle Brewster, Bill Flynn, Jasmine McCray, Justin Brooks, Tim Forline, Johnny Richeson, Alex Baum, Moses Ballard, Ally Abbs, Emily Rebechi, Teddy Washington, Kyle Hutton, DeAndrae Preston, Cailin Aucoin, Jamie Lindblade, Wade McMillan and Mark Kendree.

Ticket prices for CCU /HGTC students, faculty and staff are $3; children are free with an adult.

Wheelwright Auditorium is located at 108 Spadoni Park Circle on the CCU campus in Conway.
