Heart-connected public speaking course offered at CCU

Author, trainer and nationally acclaimed public speaker Margaret Hiller will lead a one-day workshop at Coastal Carolina University?s Waccamaw Higher Education Center on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In the program, "Heart Connected Public Speaking," Hiller teaches how to conquer fears of expressing an opinion, presenting a proposal or defending a position, whether to a single listener, a room full of people, or to an unknown television audience.

The Rev. Margaret Hiller is ordained as an interfaith minister and has a master?s degree in therapeutic psychology. Since 1979 she has traveled extensively in the U.S. and other countries facilitating groups in the healing and heart opening process. She is a frequent speaker with Unity and New Thought churches. She has taught a popular class entitled ?Dynamic Heart Connected Public Speaking? at Santa Barbara City College and is a public speaking coach. She and husband David reside in Pawleys Island and maintain a counseling and healing practice.

The workshop fee is $50. The Waccamaw Higher Education Center is located at 160 Willbrook Blvd., just west of U.S. 17 next to the Hampton Inn.
