Complete your college degree through Coastal's Bais program

September 22, 2000

A free information session about Coastal Carolina University's Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (BAIS) degree program will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Wall Building 118 on the Coastal campus.

The BAIS degree offers a structured but flexible program which allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies at their own pace around their work schedules, according to Peter Balsamo, dean of Coastal's Division of Extended Learning and Public Services. The program is ideal for adults who have an associate's degree or have completed at least 30 credit hours of college work. Students can also earn credits by passing standardized tests or challenge exams.

The interdisciplinary studies degree program focuses on skills and knowledge essential in today's workplace such as management, organizational behavior, business and professional writing, human resources, public relations and interpersonal communications.

Courses are available during the day and evening on the Conway and Georgetown campuses as well as during the evening in Myrtle Beach. In addition, prospective students can complete courses through distance learning.

Also, two $500 scholarship opportunities are available for students in Coastal's interdisciplinary studies program. Deadline to apply for the scholarship is Oct. 2.
