CCU science talks continue throughout area

Hurricanes, dolphins, water quality, new medications and the Galapagos islands will be the topics covered in the next set of talks by faculty members of Coastal Carolina University's College of Natural and Applied Sciences. The talks are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8 throughout Horry and Georgetown counties beginning at 7 p.m. They are free and open to the public. For more information, call 349-2202.

Tuesday's events are:

- "Managing Our Watershed: Strategies for maintaining water quality and natural habitats" led by Susan Libes

Location: CCU Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts, room 257

- "Fins, Flippers and Flukes: Dolphins in South Carolina" led by Robert Young

Location: CCU Higher Education Center at Myrtle Square Mall, room 126

- "What You Still Don't Know About Hurricanes" led by Louis Keiner

Location: J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, North Myrtle Beach

- "The Unique Galapagos Islands: See What Darwin Saw" led by Richard Koesterer

Location: Loris Center for Health and Fitness

- "Design
