Comedian Vic Henley to perform at Coastal

March 7, 2005

Comedian Vic Henley will perform at Coastal Carolina University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 in Wall Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

Henley is a comedy veteran who co-authored “Games Rednecks Play” with Jeff Foxworthy and has written his own book “Things You Don’t Expect Southerners to Say.”

A native of Oxford, Ala., Henley graduated from Auburn University and worked as a stockbroker in Phoenix, Ariz. His attention turned from finance to funnies when he entered and won a comedy contest at a local nightclub, which started his career on the comedy club circuit.

He has appeared on the “Late Show with David Letterman” and was nominated for College Comedian of the Year five times. He has been on Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Collin Quin,” “BBC Stand Up” in London and the John Boy & Billy radio show. Henley has appeared at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival in Scotland. He is preparing to film his first half-hour comedy special for Comedy Central later this year.
