Community Spring Festival features family fun

The third annual Community Spring Festival will be Saturday, April 2 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Coastal Carolina University. The event is open to the public.

The festival, sponsored by Coastal’s Spadoni College of Education, is designed to bring children and families to campus for a day of fun and learning activities. The events will be in and around Kearns Hall and the Williams-Brice Physical Education Center.

For a $2 fee, children may participate in fun and learning activities such as wacky golf, sand art, face painting, hair wraps, piñata, basketball clinic, moon walk, health bingo, obstacle course, treasure hunt, relay races, photo booth, science activities, Pet-the-Pony and more.

A silent auction will also be conducted to benefit the Spadoni College of Education student organizations‚ community service and outreach projects, a scholarship fund, and faculty research and teaching initiatives. The auction will include such items and packages as hotel getaways, restaurant dinners, golf packages and more; bidding will continue throughout the festival and will close at 2 p.m.
