Auditions for student roles in Columbia City Ballet's 2000 production of Nutcracker will be held Sunday, Oct. 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Litchfield Dance Arts Academy. Nutcracker will be performed at Coastal Carolina University's Wheelwright Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

For this perennial holiday favorite, Columbia City Ballet artistic director William Starrett has assembled a cast of world-class dancers, including medallists and former members of the National Ballet of Canada, the American Ballet Theatre and the Joffrey Ballet. Student dancers from the local region are an important feature of the production.
