High school math whizzes compete in annual meet at CCU
High schools that competed in the 2005 contest were: A.C. Flora, Aynor, Carolina Forest, Carvers Bay, Conway, Creek Bridge, Dobyns-Bennett (Tenn.), John T. Hoggard (N.C.), Loris, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Socastee, Spring Valley, Summerville, Wando and Williston-Elko.

Students in the competition were given written examinations. Level I questions were taken from Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry; Level II questions were taken from Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry. Individual winners received $100 gift cards for first place, $75 gift cards for second place and $50 gift cards for third place in each category. All competing students and their sponsors received specially-designed T-shirts.
