Coastal Carolina University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is sponsoring a free Business Development workshop for small business owners on Tuesday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. The workshop will be held at Coastal's Higher Education Center located at Myrtle Square Mall.

The seminar will be led by Theresa Singleton, deputy district director of the Small Business Administration (SBA). This workshop will detail:

- How the Government Buys, including simplified procedures, sealed bidding, contract negotiation and consolidated purchasing programs.

- 8(a) Program Overview and Eligibility Requirements, including an overview, how the program works, social and economic disadvantage, marketing and bonding.

- 8(a) Application process, including forms, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) and size standards.
