Coastal Carolina University President Ronald R. Ingle has appointed Linda Vereen, senior instructor of mathematics and statistics, as the university's NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative.< p> Vereen's responsibilities include interaction with the NCAA, serving as a member of the Faculty Athletic Senate Intercollegiate Athletics Committee, certifying eligibility for all student-athletes for conference and NCAA competition, practice and financial aid, representing Coastal at conference and NCAA meetings, and conducting exit interviews for senior (or non-returning) student-athletes.

Prior to coming to Coastal in 1991, Vereen held teaching positions at Coastal Academy and Myrtle Beach Middle School. Vereen earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina.
