Sales motivation seminar to be held Oct. 25

October 6, 2000

A sales motivational seminar featuring three sales professionals will be held Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Coastal Carolina University's Wall Auditorium. Admission is $10 and all proceeds go to directly to the Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) Club, a student organization in Coastal's E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. Coastal's SAM Club organized the event as a fund raiser to offset travel costs for an upcoming conference for management students.

Conference speakers are Bill McKenzie, Donna Smith and Matt Harris.

McKenzie has worked as a fund raiser for educational institutions and in the tourism industry and has been motivating sales professionals for more than 25 years. McKenzie will focus on the importance of relationships, integrity and reliability in the sales process.

Smith is regional sales coordinator of AFLAC Insurance Company. She joined AFLAC in 1983 and was promoted to district sales manager in 1988 and regional sales coordinator in 1995. Smith's district and region have been among the top in the nation and number one in South Carolina for several years. She has won many state and national sales awards.

Harris is assistant general manager and director of corporate sales for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He has worked in the field of baseball sales and promotions for seven years and has been associated with the Pelicans since 1998. Harris spearheaded the outfield signage sales efforts at Coastal Federal Field.
