A sales motivational seminar featuring three sales professionals
will be held Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Coastal Carolina University's Wall
Auditorium. Admission is $10 and all proceeds go to directly to the
Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) Club, a student
organization in Coastal's E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business
Administration. Coastal's SAM Club organized the event as a fund raiser
to offset travel costs for an upcoming conference for management
students.
Conference speakers are Bill McKenzie, Donna Smith and Matt
Harris.
McKenzie has worked as a fund raiser for educational institutions
and in the tourism industry and has been motivating sales professionals
for more than 25 years. McKenzie will focus on the importance of
relationships, integrity and reliability in the sales process.
Smith is regional sales coordinator of AFLAC Insurance Company.
She joined AFLAC in 1983 and was promoted to district sales manager in
1988 and regional sales coordinator in 1995. Smith's district and
region have been among the top in the nation and number one in South
Carolina for several years. She has won many state and national sales
awards.
Harris is assistant general manager and director of corporate
sales for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He has worked in the field of
baseball sales and promotions for seven years and has been associated
with the Pelicans since 1998. Harris spearheaded the outfield signage
sales efforts at Coastal Federal Field.
