October 6, 2005

Dylan Savage, piano winner of the Rome Festival Orchestra Competition, will perform Monday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Coastal Carolina University in the Recital Hall in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. The event is free and open to the public.

The program will include works by Franz Joseph Haydn, Gabriel Fauré and Frédéric Chopin. Oboist Susan Savage will join her husband for three of the pieces. Savage has performed throughout the country and in the Virgin Islands and Italy. In conjunction with several authors, he developed a piano pedagogy book titled “A Symposium for Pianists: Strategies to Develop the Mind and Body for Optimal Performance.” His research on the book has been featured on both NBC and PBS.
