Comedian Anderson to perform at CCU

Comedian Amy Anderson will perform at Coastal Carolina University on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in Wall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Anderson was a finalist in both NBC’s “Laugh Factory Latino” and “Asian American Open Mic Competition” and California’s “Funniest Female Competition.” She performs regularly at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory and The Improv, where she produces and performs in her own stand up showcase, “ChopShtick Comedy.”

She has appeared on the Game Show Network’s “Funny Money,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” SiTV’s “Latino Laugh Festival” and VH1’s “A2Z.” Her newest production is an all-female comedy tour called “The Broad Coalition.”

Anderson was born in Korea and raised by a Scandinavian family in Excelsior, Minn. She earned her bachelor’s degree in classical music from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. A singer and pianist since the age of two and also an accomplished guitarist, Anderson was a professional musician before she took up comedy full time.
