Burroughs Foundation makes donation towards CCU library improvements
The donation will be used to fund student presentation rooms within the library and equip them with furniture and presentation aids designed to help students develop speaking skills. The equipment includes flip charts, easels, white boards and electronic aids for Powerpoint or transparencies.
One of the student presentation rooms will be named for the Burroughs Foundation Inc. The improvement project is a part of the Kimbel Library Initiative, which also includes the development of an information commons area in the library and enhancements to other library equipment.
The foundation, which also recently donated another $1,000 to fund an annual scholarship at Coastal, was created in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin G. Burroughs to support education, charitable and humanitarian purposes for the benefit of Horry County citizens.
